5. The Shack – March 2024
The Shack also opened on March 2, with the aim of bringing independent crafters and business owners together. The business is located in Woodmeadow Garden Centre in Kettering Road, and was already at its full capacity of crafters weeks before opening. It was founded by Karen Akhtar, who wanted to give independent crafters the opportunity to rent a space and sell their goods from The Shack. 6. The Cake Hole – March 2024
Baked goods business The Cake Hole moved into a cabin at Workbridge, in Bedford Road, and opened to the public on March 2. Founded by Sherrilyn Reynolds in the midst of the pandemic, The Cake Hole enables customers to indulge their sweet tooth with home-baked cakes, cookies, biscuits and treats. Sherrilyn branded the space as perfect for her needs and she was raring to become part of the growing community at Workbridge on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays each week. Photo: The Cake Hole
7. The Wedding Rooms – March 2024
The Wedding Rooms, described as an in-person wedding directory and permanent wedding fair, opened at the heart of the town centre in Market Square on March 9. Megan Lord hopes the business will become the go-to place for brides and grooms-to-be to find out about local suppliers and plan their wedding in a fun and relaxed environment. 8. The Flavour Trailer – March 2024
Popular gourmet burger business The Flavour Trailer opened its first restaurant in Northampton on March 12. The business, set up in April 2018 by partners Mario Shephard and Charley Cummings, has cracked the food truck market over the past six years. They spent eight years honing their chef skills across Europe before establishing The Flavour Trailer, which aimed to revolutionise takeaways.
